With a love of history and foreign languages to coaching tennis, Victoria discovered accounting at University, and her inspiring lecturers kept her there. After completing her Chartered Accounting qualification she moved from Sydney to Wollongong in 2017 and soon came on board with BLG. We have now gained the benefit of Victoria’s hard work and team spirit for over a year.

Victoria builds trusting relationships with her clients by providing valuable advice and proactive assistance, particularly with year end tax planning and accounting compliance work. With the regulations around self-managed superannuation funds and other accounting systems getting more complex, Victoria likes ensuring our clients can maximise opportunities and deal with changes proactively. Victoria also loves the dedicated team at BLG, who she says are amazing to work with on a daily basis.

Knowing she wanted to be an accountant from a young age, Sarah went to University and worked while she was studying in a different role, but thankfully discovered BLG and made the move to work here. She is a qualified Chartered Accountant and BLG have had the pleasure of her outstanding work for 6 years.

Getting to know her clients and their business is a major part of Sarah’s role, ensuring she understands what it is they are trying to achieve and how BLG can help them achieve it. Tammy Tieu

Posted on February 6, 2019 by Grace Dawson

Chartered Accountant

  • Bachelor of Commerce (Accountancy) (Finance)
  • Member of Chartered Accountants Australia + New Zealand

A love of music and numbers can work in harmony in accounting as Tammy’s success at BLG shows. We are ever grateful for Tammy choosing accounting over a music career, because her dedication to clients and attention to detail make her a key component of our fantastic team. Tammy was introduced to BLG during work experience, and enjoyed it so much she didn’t hesitate to apply for the Junior Accountant role when starting University. Tammy has been with BLG for seven years and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Tackling difficult situations and complex problems is part of being a business adviser, and Tammy has used these moments as opportunities for growth both personally and professionally. Tammy knows that, while anyone can find a solution to a problem, if that solution doesn’t aid and assist our client’s goals then it’s not the best solution out there. She always provides clients with exceptional service whether in tax planning, business advisory or auditing, and it is the communication and face-to-face interactions she has with clients that she enjoys the most.

When away from her desk Tammy loves going for walks or hikes on weekends and, in keeping with her background in music, going to music gigs.

Is it the end or the beginning?

Posted on July 2, 2018
by Angela Bernardi

And so we come to the end of one financial year and the beginning of another. On personal reflection this year has been the busiest in my career and on top of this my eldest daughter started Primary School, bringing home homework, readers and assignments.

Each year seems to get busier and busier. Why does time seem to speed up with age? Where does the time go? It’s a mystery.

On reflection the past year has brought some great milestones – some which I wish I had appreciated more at the time. So don’t forget to stop and smell the roses no matter how fast life seems to pass by.

I’m looking forward to this financial year and a little break in July. Aloha!

As always, a big thank you to all our amazing staff for their hard work, effort and support over the last financial year. We have an amazing crew.

When I get past the 30 June

Posted on July 2, 2017
by Angela Bernardi
The 30 June ‘deadline’ at the end of the financial year always represents a key annual milestone to me. Firstly it indicates I survived another financial year! Secondly, it’s a marking point that reminds me to stop, take a deep breath, reflect on everything that has been achieved in the last year and plan ahead for the next. The end of financial year is not always about the ‘financial things’… So my non financial checklist looks something like this…
